This Old House

One week ago I purchased an old run-down house in downtown metro Birminham. The house is a diamond in the rough. It is full of hidden potential! It is a beautiful old Victorian style home that was built in 1915. It has four bedrooms, two of which have fireplaces and one has a sleeping porch. It has a foyer, a sitting room, a living room (with a fireplace), a dining room, kitchen, and one and a half baths. Every room has 12' ceilings. Overall it is about 3,000 sq. ft.
The previous owners were a local charity. It had been donated to them years ago, and had onced been used to facilitate babies with a disease. After that, it had been rented to a family of 13 for several years, but had recently remained vacant for the last year and a half. Needless to say, there is much that needs repairing and remodeling.
Right now, it is pretty nasty. The roof appears to have been leaking for a while. The hardwood floors are buckled in the living room and will need to be patched. Several ceilings will also need to be replaced. Both bathrooms are really outdated and the kitchen is terrible.
I purchased it through a government loan that allows me a little extra money to remodel it but only 30 days to do it in. So, here we go!
